Phandor's Reeve
Claus is a kind spirited man who happily helps everyone in need. He always wants what's best for the village and made decisions accordingly. When Adrian Agolith started terrorizing Phandor, Claus remained optimistic and tried to ensure the safety of his people as much as he could. His faith, however, dwindled when his brother was killed by Adrian for speaking up. Claus was left to take care of his niece, Eliza, who was devastated by the death of her father.
When The Medui-Alf first arrived in Phandor, Claus quickly took notice of their agreement with Eliza to kill Adrian. Though in his heart he wished he could ask them the same, he didn't want to endanger his niece, and the village for that matter, any more. Before the foreigners could leave, however, Adrian already had spotted the adventuring party and interrogated the village, which didn't give up their location, resulting in the death of Eliza. This broke Claus and made him realize Adrian needed to be stopped.
Seedling
During Unknown, Claus quickly ran into the townhall to save a seedling of the Dreamwillow. He managed to evade the sea of swords, arrows and fire and bring the last seedling to the Medui-Alf without being noticed. Claus proceeded to hide, but was later found and spiked.
