Backstory:
Kree’s story started as just a little
Kenku, listening attentively to the stories his elders told him about great
warriors and adventurers. Wide-eyed he listened to these stories of wins and
losses, finding weaknesses and exploiting them to gain an advantage in battle.
Because Kree was a
Kenkuhe was naturally talented towards the use of mimicry, he started using this
little trick of his, very early on in his life to gain things normally beyond
his reach. He also used it to tell tales with realistic sounds of
clashing swords and arrows flying by. As Kree grew older though, he began
longing for the thrill of adventure. He knew that he was destined for great
things. He would always yearn to go out on his own, gather knowledge, study
different techniques and just experience unknown things to him. This is how he
found a monastery that he was interested in joining. He saw their elaborate
fighting styles and spiritual enlightenment and at that moment he thought this
was his place, he found what the gods planned for him, he even found his
goddess, Lloth. After some time passed and he had made the monastery's
fighting style his own, he started feeling irritated by the strict hierarchy
and unbendable rules. This was the time to venture out again is what he
thought, and so he did. He started studying the way his masters fought,
because after all he had joined this monastery and he couldn’t just simply
leave, he had to defeat one of his masters. This is where the interest in
studying his enemies originated from, because in the fight against his master
he knew exactly what he was going to do, it made him feel powerful, feared.
After he won he of course decided he would venture out on his own again.
During this time alone he had fought countless battles, learning from every
fight, not just in technique but as a person too. He didn't just see the
battles as ordinary battles but as personal challenges he had to overcome and
viewed his opponents as their own individual teachers that helped him in
improving. This is also why he infiltrated countless strongholds and has even
gone as far as to risk his life gaining the trust of foes for dangerous
negotiation with rival factions just to improve his negotiation tactics. He
has been caught, hurt, tortured and abused and left for dead countless times
but he always managed to escape and most importantly learn from these
situations, and his adventurous spirit was never extinguished. He also has
become quite an expert on disguise and deception, being able to blend in with
any crowd or group of people, and being able to manipulate individuals to
achieve his own goals, all while still being a
Kenku. Now while Kree travels the lands he doesn’t do it alone anymore, he’s taken
a liking to traveling with others. He doesn’t really know where it came from
but he enjoys the company and seeing the others fight alongside him. This does
not stop him from following his own goals, gathering knowledge and living an
overall exciting life.
Early Life:
As just a little
Kenku Kree was fascinated with the stories the elders from his flock told
him, these campfire stories always stayed with him throughout his life. He
even retold these stories with his mimicry ability to impress the other
children from the flock. But as time went on these stories weren’t enough for
Kree; he wanted to experience them first hand, he wanted to venture out on his
own. It first started with him and his peers traveling beyond the borders of
where his flock stayed, exploring the nature, chasing the different kinds of
animals that lived there and just enjoying themselves, luckily nothing ever
happened but looking back on it with the knowledge Kree currently has he
realizes it was quite dangerous.
The Monastery:
Kree learned a lot here, his values in life, his sense of purpose and also the
base of his fighting techniques were taught to him here. He even found his
goddess, Lloth. Lloth continued to play a big part in Kree’s life, he doesn't
agree with most things she stands for though, he just appreciates what she has
done for him and is eternally thankful for that even though he has never even
seen her.
Study of Enemies:
Kree’s study of enemies sort of stands for his rebellious side, the side of
him that stands up against hierarchies and strict rules. He first started
doing it to free himself from the shackles that the monastery's strict rules
put on him and he has never let go of these tactics since then.
Betrayal and Ascension:
Kree’s story took a dark turn when his ambitions led him to betray his companions. One day Kree had found himself in Avarel, the connections he still had with his former monastery told him a mighty follower of Lloth was here, the black spider. Kree wanted to find her. But along his way he encountered his old companions, somehow they were here too? Why and for what he had no clue, he also simply did not care. Later he and his companions found themselves in front of the council of Avarel, where he saw her… The black spider, he now knew she was real, she was here. Then suddenly the lift plummeted down and he and his companions found themselves in a big cave, eye to eye with the black spider he got an offer from Lloth. ‘’Kree, join the black spider in battle and you will wake up on my plane, the Demon Web Pits.’’ Kree accepted this offer and turned into a Dryad, he fought a hard battle against his former companions and unfortunately got defeated. He ran into a hole in the wall covered by a web and disappeared. He then woke up, eye to eye with Lloth.
