Description
People of the Sea, Fishfolk, Denizes of the Deep Blue or Tritons. Those humanoids come with many names. Underwater humanoids that are said to live deep down where prying eyes cannot reach. Tritons' exact population is unknown as many of them claim to have cities hiding at the bottom of the oceans and only a minority lives above surface. Close friends with Sea Elf and Lizardfolk, they are guardians of the waters. However they guard the waters from dangers, and the dangers sometimes are humanoids. They feature fish scales on their bodies, fins and gills on their body and their skin is colored in blue hues.

Laia created the Tritons to guard the waters of the world.
Genetics
Tritons are lawful creatures, keeping traditions and customs in high esteem. Their bodies are made to easily survive in underwater conditions.
Lifespan
Tritons live around 200 years if underwater, or about 130 years if above the surface.

Seas all over the world.

Little is actually confirmed about Tritons. They are viewed as humanoids from far away places and sailors have them in high regard. Their presence often gathers curious people around.

Triton Traits
As a triton, you have the following racial traits.
Ability Scores: Increase your Dexterity by 1.
Creature Type: You are a Humanoid.
Size: You are Medium.
Speed: Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
Amphibious: You can breathe air and water.
Control Air and Water: You can cast fog cloud with this trait. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the gust of wind spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the water walk spell with it. Once you cast any of these spells with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Emissary of the Sea: You can communicate simple ideas to any Beast, Elemental, or Monstrosity that has a swimming speed. It can understand your words, though you have no special ability to understand it in return.
Guardian of the Depths: Adapted to the frigid ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage.
Languages: Your character can speak, read and write (writing requires INT score 6 or higher) Common, Aquan and one other language of your choice that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character's backstory. A list of languages and their regions can be found in Languages.
