Description

Dark Elves were not created as they are, but evolved over centuries. Originally, there was only once variety of elves, as per Laia's design. However, during the War that broke the world, many elves fled deep below the ground, trying to escape the reckless destruction of the fragments. Some of those elves, went too deep. Without realizing that they were into the Unknown, elves who stayed there started to get influenced by the magic that dwells below. When the surface destruction was over, those elves were hesitant to surface again. The conditions of the surface did not seem as hospitable to them as they once were. Despite the thick forest and hidden groves, sunlight was bothering them a bit too much. Those groups of elves, became the first Dark Elves and built their cities below the surface. The isolation alienated them from the surface elves, leading to conflicts later on, during the 3rd Era. A civil war between the elves took place, with the defeat of the Dark Elves and their proper integration to Elven society once more.
