Dunnage is a charismatic con man, scamming and scheming his way through life. His cunning has gotten him far but his manipulative plans leave many of his victims wanting for his head on a stake. Burning bridges is his specialty. Though, the bridges are starting to become few, and his enemies many.

Early Life

[Type below:] Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max] The locations don't have to be named. It can be described. Growing up locations play a role on what your character knows about the area. Some races might have specific locations they came from. If uncertain, ask the DM.

Dunnage grew up in one of the few remaining populated cities. People and buildings is all he knows. He would stay with an adoptive family named the Dales, a merchant family.

[Type below:] Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max] name at least 2 characters, preferably 3-4, that played an important role in your upbringing. 

The Dales took Dunnage in and treated him as their son. Gerald Dale was his father, Fiona Dale his mother, and a girl his age named Macy Dale was his sister. The family is still doing well, and Dunnage will occasionally see his adoptive sister from time to time.

[Type below:] How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max] How did your strengths and weaknesses formed your life? For instance, did a 20 STR push you into manual labor, as you could handle it easily? Did a low CON make you often sick and had to travel to the capital for medicine? Did a high CHA make it easy to make friends?

His high Charisma and Intelligence allowed him to make connections fast. Making friends in the underground criminal network, Knowing the scores and having the Dexterity to break into buildings got him pretty far through life. His Strength on the other hand has failed him many times. Times where he is cornered, hubris catching up to him, he finds himself beaten to near death.

Defining Events

[Type below:] What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max] Why did you become a Fighter and not a Barbarian? What incident pushed you to your class choice?

Dunnage, finding himself beaten to near death by people he shouldn't have stolen from, wished for power. He was tired of not being able to hold his own in a fight. His weakness was going to get himself killed. As he laid in whatever alley way he was left in waiting to die. A mysterious bat flew to him and simply asked a question, and he answered yes. Not understanding what exactly he did he awoke later to find himself with new abilities, and a new confidence.

[Type below:] What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max] In the last 2–3 years, what had your character been doing?

Scamming and stealing. Dunnage does not earn coin honestly. Whether he breaks into a house to steal valuables or seducing a young and naïve rich woman. This is how he lived for many years.

[Type below:] What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max] Nobody decides to endanger themselves without good reason. Were you forced to leave your previous lifestyle? What happened that changed you from a safe job, like a farmer, to an adventurer?

He was forced away from his city due to a scheme going wrong, Dunnage pissed of 1 too many people and found himself at odds end, forcing him to leave and go on the road.

[Type below:] What short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max] If the world continued in its peaceful state, what would you'd be working towards for?

He wants to make enough coin to create a safe place for his adoptive sister. Though at the moment he is trying not to die, whether is due to spiders or his past catching up to him.

Relationships

[Type below:] Which people are important for your character? [75 words max] Who does your character consider important at the start of the campaign? Name at least 2 other people

He considers his adoptive family important. Especially his sister Macy.

[Type below:] What connections do your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max] communicate with the other players and create two positive connections with two other player characters. Could have been friendship, coworkers, family relation or any relation that results in some degree of trust

After Dunnage had to leave his town, his sister told him to promise to finally make some friends. So here he is, trying to make friends.

[Type below:] Name an agreement you have made to another player character that you would honor. [75 words max] Communicate and agree on what agreement your character has made to one of the two other characters (you have connections to), that you wouldn't break.

Flaws

[Type below:] What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?[75 words max] This is more for plot hooks. It could be a missed opportunity or something they feel bad about.

Dunnage has broken many friendships. Even with those he deeply cared about. His selfishness always wins out in the end, though that might begin to change.

He regrets disappointing his adoptive family, and he understands that his actions have caused much strife for them.
