Onde comes from a middle class family in the Radiant Empire. He was an apprentice carpenter under the renowned Barsi, where he learned to fix and maintain ships.
At 18, as part of finishing his apprenticeship, Barsi sent him out for a year at sea with the empire to learn about what ships endure at sea to better his knowledge. Fell in love with a girl from the Firebird atolls and decided to stay there, not going back to the empire. So technically dropped out and never finished his apprenticeship, lacking the proper accreditation but has the experience and eye for it.
Didn't work out with the girl, so now looking for his next step doing odd jobs, mostly related to wood construction. Too embarrassed to go back to the empire and deal with his parents and Barsi for bailing (the apprenticeship cost their parents a lot of social capital). So has a strong reason not to go back or get involved with them.
Personality wise, Onde goes for the first idea that pops to his mind, rather than explore the pros and cons of various options, which is why Barsi sent him out first. He has knack of getting out of any situation he ends up, or always landing back on his feet, but doesn't take the smartest decisions, leading him in those difficult situations in the first place.
Friendly by nature, he has a circle of friends where he currently is, mostly from work, other kids his age or thereabouts. They aren't the best influence either, but it keeps his life excited. From his friend group, Merve (female, 23, punk-rock attitude attol girl) is the leader and one that gets the group into shenanigans.
Onde doesn't think too much about his future right now, but would love to go back to sea, live more adventure, and find treasure before settling down.
Oh, that? No big deal. Child's play, to me. Easiest thing ever.
Rameera is the daughter of nobility in the The Radiant Empire. She is basically the perfect picture of what nobility should be. Well spoken, well dressed, kindly but imposing, and a powerful sorcerer on top of an accomplished fencer. Perhaps this has gone to her head, as her confidence crossed well into the territory of bravado.
Except beneath the surface she's not that. She's an insecure mess who can't do anything right. Rameera believes she has to maintain the image of being perfect, or she would lose respect, and love.
She keeps notes in a a journal

Ras was found on a small island in The Firebird Atolls as a child and was adopted by the Azure Zenith.
Through her menagerie of imaginary and animal friends and the way nature seems to bend to her aid, it was quickly understood that she's a Seer.
Using her magic to predict storms and avoid other obstacles she became the ship’s lucky charm, and with that, and her later obtained knowledge in Alchemy, got her the official title of “the ship’s mage” (self-proclaimed and reluctantly recognized).
Since she was young, Ras has been a mischievous thing. She was often referred to as Rescal as she never told the crew her name. She later adopted it as a name, this was later shortened to Ras as a nickname because the more she grew up the more awkward it became.
A thief with a heart of gold, apparently has the ability to turn into a woman named Zaena
I ain't got the sharpest eyes here, or the quickest sword arm. Not the best leg either. But ya know what I do got? The stinking ability to cook a pot of broth that won't poison ye to death or worse!
The oldest crewmate of The Azure Zenith, Ganadei lost his left leg during the mutiny against the previous captain. He refuses to leave the crew however, and while he needs constant help getting around, his affable nature makes him beloved by the crew.
Hey, I don't know why you're so mad at me. Not my fault I'm the best here at cards, dice, and every other game you bring to the table.
Crewmate of The Azure Zenith, Yonerai used to be extremely loyal to the ship's previous captain, and only turned on him once it was clear that Captain Renad mutiny was winning. Those who joined the crew after the mutiny tend to dislike him and his sullen demeanour, though those who knew him from before seem to trust him.
Ras personally believes that he'll likely sell out the crew to the imperial navy if given the chance, so she keeps a close eye on him.
