"Pirates" is a strong word. I prefer to think of my crew as... unlicensed sailors who happen to be fleeing the law and questing for bounty and treasure.
Captain of The Azure Zenith, Renad used to be first mate, but took charge of the ship and turned it to piracy after the mutiny against the previous captain ordered the slaughter of the crew of a merchant vessel (aboard which was Odren).
The captain is a strict leader with little tolerance for insubordination or rules-breaking, but he is both fair and compassionate in his judgements.
