Amichai's Quest

You and Conicus are allowed to hold services at your church, but are required to give up your spell focus and are forbidden to do any casting.  Conicus convinces you to agree to this, saying your first duty is to the people.  The church is periodically searched and torn apart by the gnolls, another thing you learn to put up with.

You have a recurring dream every couple weeks of a sunrise over Humblewood.  Each time it's the same, looking over a valley filled with fog with Crest Mountains in the background.   You can tell it's not a normal dream.

June 8, 1537

One night you have the dream again and you hear the voice of Tyton say, "It's time to go."  You wake up with Conicus standing over you holding your pack.  "Tyton told me, you must go now," he said.  "Head southwest.  Look for the hollow tree on top of a barren hill.  Go.  Quick."

You leave but before you go far you hear a commotion.  Gnolls have once again broken into the church.  This time they drag Conicus out and take him away.  You hear him shouting," Go.  Amichai, go!  Follow Tyton!!"

(In the bottom of your backpack you find a holy symbol of Tyton.  Your new spell focus.)

June 21, 1537

During a mission in Meadowfen, Dúne found these posters around town.  It's such an obvious ruse, if they'd wanted to kill Conicus they'd have done it right there in the church.  But why do they care that you've left?  And where is Conicus, because he's alive, right?

June 23

You have the dream again, only this time as you watch the sun rise, something appears in the air a long ways off.  It leaves a streak behind it, and then you wake up.

 July 11

The dream changes again, lasts a little longer.  After the streak in the sky you find yourself running in the woods, only you're not sure if it's you that's running or it's someone else.  One moment it feels like you're running to something and the next you're sure you're fleeing something.  Or is it someone?  Everything goes dark and all you can hear are the sounds of a battle.

You wake up, wide awake, and a voice echoes in your mind, "My child, come to me."   At first you're convinced it was Conicus, but as you lie there unable to go to sleep again, you're not so sure.

August 14

It's been almost a month since you've had the dream.  As always, it starts out the same.  The sunrise, something in the sky, running, sounds of battle.  But this time, you see two hands with long fingers stretching out.  Not a creature you know.  Maybe something undead?  You wake up before you can see any thing else.

September 22

The night after Ashbarrow is liberated, again the dream.  And afterward, the voice, "I have something to show you my child.  Come to me.  Cleanse my temple."
