The Druid

Firbolg • Druid

"Every life is valuable, and deserves to be honored"

Thistlethorn, formerly known as Willowbark and Dandelion, is a firbolg druid whose origin lies in the mystical Spiral Woods, part of the larger realm known as Faunus’ Forest. Her life took a tragic turn when an inexplicable sickness ravaged her forest home, leading to the loss of her mentor and her banishment by her tribe, who suspected her of causing the affliction. Alone, Thistlethorn wandered until fate led her to Gundren Rockseeker, who needed her healing skills.

After aiding Gundren and her new companions in liberating Wave Echo Cave, Thistlethorn's journey led her back to the Spiral Woods, where she confronted a coven of hags causing the sickness. In a fierce battle, they defeated the hags, lifting the curse and allowing Thistlethorn to embrace a new identity. As she contemplates returning to her tribe, her god, Faunus, guides her in a greater quest against The Forgotten God, her connection to nature and the divine ever deepening.

About Thistlethorn

Apperances

A firbolg druid with green hair and yellow eyes. Her skin is tan with a green tint, and she wears simple clothes of earthy and green tones. She wields a simple wooden shield and the Staff of Defence, looted of Glasstaff.

Past and present

She comes from Faunus Forest, it's location unknown to most, but is later revealed to be the Spiral Woods / Faunus' Forest
She often mentions various gods, non of which anyone else has heard of. Faunus seems to be an important part of her faith. ,She seems horrified by Kal and her rather strained relationship with her God.

Through talks the party has had along the road, Willowbark tells them she was exiled from her tribe for the safety of her tribesmembers and perhaps also herself. The forest was plagued by some unknown disease or infestation, that killed members of her tribe. Much is still unclear around her situation.

During talks with her party, it is revealed that Willowbark ha gone under a few different names. Thana and Pine have been heard so far

Willowbark is often seen doing rituals involving a pack of sticks and rocks she keeps curled up in a small piece of fabric. After battles, she collects the fallen and is adamant in giving them a sort of burial.

Though she maintains the belief that all animals are free creatures, and should be their own master, she has a friendly relationship to her horse Speed

Personality

Fascinated by livestock, she is often found having conversations with cows or sheep. Currency and the aspect of gold and riches is foreign to her, much to her new friends dismay. She is often giving away money.
Naive and curious, she seems to not know a lot of the world.

A creature of the forest

As a druid, Willowbark often talks to animals and plants, both wild and domesticated. She often uses her wildshape to turn into animals, currently preferring a wolf-shape. All her wildshape-animals have a slight tint of green to their fur, much like the slight green tint to her own skin.

Held good communications with the rangers protecting the forest. There was much sorrow in the tribe when she died.

Present tribal leader: Sage (Wise)

Known as a wise man with a strong connection to the Gods, he was chosen as the leader after Clementine's demise.  Just, but god-fearing, he chose to exile Thana, fearing that the Gods wrath might be harmful to the remaining members. Exile was viewed as a large sacrifice made to appease the Gods.

Former tribal Druid: Galen (Calm, healer) - Deceased

An elderly male, known for his calm demeanor. Had served the tribe as a druid for the last 360 years or so. Greatly beloved. Pine apprenticed with him for about 7 years before she was exiled.

Characters friend: Gold

Used to be named Oak, but changed his name to SIlver after recieving a piece of silver from Lark. He often guides the tribe members in breathing and calming excersized, and is deamed a little eccentric, even by tribe standards
