The Ape Kingdom is a secluded land hidden deep within the The Stillwoods, its boundaries marked by the tallest trees and the thickest vines. The kingdom is made up of several Apeling tribes, each with their own distinct customs and ways of life. At the heart of the kingdom lies the grand tree, a colossal tree that serves as the home of King Bo-Bo and his court. The kingdom is protected by skilled warriors who use their strength and agility to defend against any threat to their lands. The Apeling tribes live in harmony with nature and worship the spirits of the forest, believing that all living things are connected. The kingdom is a place of peace and serenity, but tensions have been rising in recent years as the encroachment of outsiders threatens their way of life. Frequent hunting expeditions funded by the noble families of Avalon have threatened war between the ape kingdom as the spirits of the forests are hunted for sport and game.
The Sconosciuto culture in the Ape Kingdom is deeply rooted in their close relationship with the forest. They see themselves as the protectors of the Stillwood, and hold a strong reverence for the natural world. They believe that their homes, which are actually ancient ruins of a long-forgotten centaur civilization, are sacred ground and take great care to maintain and preserve them. The apelings have a strong sense of community and cooperation, with each tribe working together to maintain their shared home. They also have a deep respect for their king, King Bo-Bo, whom they view as the protector of their way of life. Their culture is steeped in tradition, with rituals and ceremonies held to mark important occasions, such as the changing of the seasons and the passing of a great leader. They also have a rich oral tradition, with stories and legends passed down through generations. As they have begun to explore the ruins of the ancient Centaurians civilization, the Sconosciutos have begun to adopt some of their practices, such as the creation of art and the use of music to celebrate important events. They are also learning about the centaur's knowledge of architecture and engineering, and are incorporating this into the maintenance and expansion of their homes. Notably, the society of the Ape Kingdom is divided into key roles such as hunters, gatherers, warriors, menders, and elders which all play quintessential roles in the functioning society. Hunters bring game back to feast upon, gatherers pick wild berries and fruits to stock up supplies, warriors protect The Crowned Grove and King Bo-Bo from outside threat, menders construct elaborate bridleways amongst the forest canopy and adequate housing for their kin, and elders study the past teachings of Verdan in order to learn from the knowledge of their Centaur ancestors which once resides within The Crowned Grove.
