Fralskar Forest

Arctic Forest

Nestled within the icy grasp of Norska's unforgiving tundras, the Fralskar Forest stands as a hauntingly beautiful yet perilous expanse of frozen wilderness. Encased in a perpetual sheath of ice, the forest offers only a fragile reprieve from the cutting arctic winds that descend from the north. Its dense canopy, once teeming with vibrant life, now bears the weight of centuries of frost, its branches hanging low under crystalline sheets of ice. The name Fralskar, translating to Frozen Scars in the ancient Unknown tongue, aptly captures its fractured and frostbitten essence.

Traversing the Frozen Scars

Few dare to enter Fralskar without purpose. The shifting ice, endless snow, and the relentless gaze of predators turn every step into a gamble with death. Only the experienced—those who know the hidden paths and crevasses—stand a chance of navigating its treacherous expanse. Even then, survival is never guaranteed.

In Fralskar, every sound carries a warning, every shadow a threat, and every breath is a reminder of the icy hand that governs its eternal frost.

A Savage Domain

The Fralskar Forest is far from a place of refuge. It is the hunting ground and lair for an array of savage and bloodthirsty creatures. Among its shadows stalk Frost Giant, whose roars echo like thunder across the icy expanses, and Wendigo, ghoulish predators driven by an insatiable hunger. Beneath the frozen earth lurk the monstrous Rhemoraz, whose heat trails carve haunting paths through the ice. As if these dangers were not enough, Unknown hunting parties frequently patrol the forest, their frost-encrusted weapons eager to claim trophies in Skoll’s name.

The forest is treacherous even to the most skilled hunters. Great glacial crevasses, some hidden beneath the snow, crisscross the landscape like scars from a long-forgotten battle between Skald and Borealis. These chasms, icy and sheer, pose fatal threats to the unwary, making Fralskar as much a killer as the creatures within it.

A Memory of Life

Fralskar was not always so desolate. Long ago, its frozen canopy sheltered a thriving population of arctic fauna. Giant elk, snowy caribou, and glacial foxes roamed freely under its ancient trees. The forest teemed with life, its vibrant ecosystem providing sustenance and balance to the harsh Norskan wilderness.

That vibrancy began to dwindle as Norskan raiders, in their relentless pursuit of glory and favor from the Khaos god Skoll, hunted the forest’s creatures to near extinction. The once-abundant herds became trophies, their bones adorning the halls of the Norskan warlords. With each hunt, the balance of life tipped further toward desolation.

Legends of the Fralskar

In time, the winds of Borealis, a relentless arctic gale, swept through the forest, enshrouding it in a layer of bi-frost so thick it became an eternal monument to its past. The frost froze not only the trees and the ground but also the memory of what the forest once was—a vibrant cradle of life, now locked in time.

For the Norskans, Fralskar is both a proving ground and a graveyard. Only the strongest and most cunning hunters survive its icy depths, their triumphs earning them Skoll’s favor and their failures consigning them to the frozen embrace of the earth.
