The Prismarine Princess
NPC

Ellavanya Farric, mother to Fineas Farric and Ares Farric, was one of the most beloved and respected members of The Elden Council, known for her nurturing nature and unmatched skill in divination magic. She served seven terms on the council as a representative of the Farric family, earning the nickname "The Prismarine Princess" for her delightful presence and dedication to the Vanir people.

She fell madly in love with Xavier Farric during their shared time as students of the Aefir Academy of the Arcane, eventually marrying the aspiring Rift wizard with the blessing of her father - Veylar FarricDespite her many accomplishments, Ellavanya’s life was marked by profound loss and misfortune, culminating in her fall into a cursed coma that left her family fractured and Aerenal without one of its most steadfast leaders.

Appearance

Ellavanya was a vision of Vanir grace, with silvery hair that shimmered like moonlight and piercing gold eyes that seemed to reflect the cosmos. She often wore flowing prismarine robes, adorned with symbols of Mystera, representing her divine connection to magic.

For a great many years, she lies in a chamber of Noble House Farric, encased in a protective stasis, her once-vibrant presence now subdued but not forgotten. This comatose state also contributed to her namespace as "The Prismarine Princess".

Early Life and Rise to Power

Ellavanya was renowned as a divination sorceress with an unshakable connection to Mystera, the Goddess of Magic. Her insights and visions guided many pivotal decisions for the Vanir people, solidifying her role as both a spiritual and political leader.

Her eloquence and empathy earned her a place on the Elden Council, where she served for centuries, bridging the divide between political factions and ensuring the welfare of Aerenal.

Tragedies and Downfall

Ellavanya’s life took a devastating turn with a series of heartbreaking events:

Xavier’s Disappearance

  • Ellavanya’s husband, Xavier Farric, was lost while attempting to traverse the Riftways on a forbidden expedition. His ambition and defiance of the Elden Council left Ellavanya grieving and questioning her role as both a wife and council member.

Fineas’s Departure

  • Her bond with her son Fineas Farric was a source of pride and joy, but his sudden departure from Aerenal after the Trial of The Arcane Elements left her heartbroken. Unable to reconcile the loss of both her husband and son, Ellavanya fell into a deep depression.

The Blight of Balthazar

During her lowest moments, Balthazar the Blighted, a malevolent Demon, exploited her despair. His influence severed her once-profound connection to Mystera, leaving Ellavanya vulnerable.

Balthazar cursed her into an eternal coma, trapping her in a state of restless slumber within the chambers of Noble House Farric. Despite the efforts of Aerenal’s greatest healers and mages, the curse remains unbroken.

Legacy and Impact

Despite her tragic fate, Ellavanya’s contributions to Aerenal are celebrated and her absence deeply felt.

Political Service

  • Her seven terms on the Elden Council were marked by a dedication to the welfare of the Vanir people, earning her the respect of both allies and rivals.

A Symbol of Hope

  • Known as "The Prismarine Princess," Ellavanya remains a symbol of the Vanir spirit—resilient, nurturing, and devoted to the balance of magic and nature.

Cursed Slumber

  • Ellavanya’s coma is a tragic reminder of the dangers of despair and the insidious influence of Khaos. Her resting place in the Farric estate serves as both a shrine to her memory and a beacon of hope for her eventual awakening.

Legacy

Ellavanya Farric is remembered as one of Aerenal’s most compassionate and insightful leaders. Her story, marked by love, loss, and tragedy, continues to inspire the Vanir people to seek balance and understanding in all things. It was only when Guy the Grateful slew Balthazar that she was once again awoken and resumed her position in The Elden Hall to make up for the lost time.
