Ogog's Blessing

Ogog's Blessing is the roughest, most notorious bar in Seregon, a place where danger and debauchery meet in a dimly lit, smoke-filled atmosphere. Located below street level to keep the oppressive heat at bay, the bar is a grim, shadowy haven for those who prefer the company of rogues, scoundrels, and the desperate. The air is thick with the stench of stale wine, sweat, and the acrid bite of palm tree wine known as "Ogog," which the bar is named after. This potent brew is the drink of choice here, though cheaper wines and barrels of local ales are also served, barely passable but enough to dull the senses.

The establishment itself is small, consisting of two levels, with the taproom occupying the upper floor. This room is where Parga, a stern and no-nonsense female Tabaxi, or her only employee, Mardun Narvesh, can usually be found tending bar. Mardun, a hulking human wrestler and former champion of The Stone Court, is known for his immense strength and the occasional scowl that sends troublemakers fleeing. The walls of the taproom are lined with rough-hewn wooden planks, darkened over time by grime and smoke. It’s a place where you can feel the tension simmering just below the surface, where a brawl could erupt at any moment.

Beneath the taproom lies the lower room, a cramped space filled with rickety tables where shady deals are made, and stolen goods are exchanged. A gladiator pit is in the center of the room. The walls here are covered in heavy curtains, masking the true nature of the place. Behind one curtain lies a concealed door leading to a back room, where the most clandestine business is conducted, often involving members of the Seven Sins. Behind another curtain, a locked iron door conceals a staircase that descends into the Sewers.

The bar’s reputation is further sullied by its association with The Back Door, a brothel run by Akordia Kenafin, a cunning and alluring female drow. The brothel, accessed through another door in the lower room, is infamous for catering to a wide range of kinks, far more permissive than any establishment found elsewhere in the city. Akordia is known for hiring off-duty Iron Guard as security, often former clients who owe her favors, ensuring that the brothel operates with a level of protection unmatched by its seedier competition.

While Ogog’s Blessing may attract all manner of unsavory characters, there is one line that Parga will not allow to be crossed—slavery. Any slavers who dare to enter the bar are quickly and violently ejected, their presence unwelcome in a place already teetering on the edge of lawlessness. Parga herself has been on edge since her husband went missing in recent weeks, a mystery that adds an undercurrent of tension to an already volatile atmosphere. For those brave or foolish enough to visit Ogog’s Blessing, it offers a glimpse into the dark, chaotic underbelly of Seregon, where danger is always lurking just out of sight, and violence is never far behind.
