Graduates of the College of the Radiant Queen receive a special ability that taps into their deep connection with history and the preserved wisdom of fallen civilizations. Through their intense study and dedication to preserving ancient lore, they learn to call upon the Echoes of the Radiant Past, summoning fragments of forgotten knowledge and power in moments of need.
Echoes of the Radiant Past Minor Feature (Available at 3rd Level)
Once per long rest, you may invoke the Echoes of the Radiant Past, calling upon the collective wisdom of the ancient kingdoms preserved within the College’s vast archives. This ability allows you to gain insights or temporary powers based on the ancient lore you’ve studied. The effects vary depending on the type of knowledge invoked, with the following options:
Echo of Heroism: As a bonus action, you can inspire yourself or an ally with the courage of ancient heroes. The target gains temporary hit points equal to twice your bard level, and they can add a d4 to one attack roll, saving throw, or ability check of their choice within the next minute.
Echo of Lore: As a reaction when making an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma check, you can call upon the teachings of ancient scholars. You gain advantage on the roll and can add your proficiency bonus, even if you’re not proficient in the skill.
Echo of Harmony: As a bonus action, you can evoke a calming memory of peaceful kingdoms long lost. All hostile creatures within 30 feet must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, they are calmed and cannot take hostile actions toward you or your allies until the end of your next turn.
Echo of the Radiant Queen: In times of great need, you may whisper a prayer to the Radiant Queen herself. For the next 10 minutes, you gain the ability to cast Guidance at will, without expending a spell slot, and your Bardic Inspiration die is treated as one size larger (d6 becomes d8, etc.) during this time.
This ability reflects the bards' scholarly devotion to preserving not just knowledge, but also the emotional and magical remnants of ancient times, allowing them to weave the strength of the past into their present-day actions.
