Kilonova of Gwahlur-Yajur

The Sentinel Shield Prophecy (regarding the Sentinel Shield), as spoken by the Oracle of the Ivory Goddess, tells of an age when Seregon will face a threat from realms beyond understanding. The prophecy warns that the Sentinel Shield will be both a weapon of salvation and a harbinger of ruin. Should the shield fall into unworthy hands, it could bring disaster upon Seregon. But in the grasp of a true hero, it will shine as a beacon of hope, essential to the city’s salvation.

Central to the prophecy is the cosmic event known as the Kilonova of Gwahlur-Yajur, a phenemona observed by the Greylight Citadel. When the two stars—Gwahlur, the demon-god of prophecy, and Yajur, the bloodthirsty goddess of death—draw near to their fated collision, they will unleash an explosion of unimaginable power. This stellar event is said to weaken the prison of Krang, the Great Old One whose twisted will seeks to consume and reshape all of existence.

The prophecy states that the Priestess of the Pallid Flower, a dark agent of Krang’s will, will attempt to perform the cultist rites of awakening in the city of Chan Kanul. This event will test the valor of the Sentinels of Seregon as they face the cult and its horrific rituals. To prevent Krang's awakening, the Sentinels must confront the Priestess and disrupt her rites, proving their worthiness to wield the Sentinel Shield in the battle against this ancient evil.

But this confrontation is only the beginning. The prophecy speaks of "the first battle in a war to come," indicating that even if the Sentinels succeed in Chan Kanul, the true struggle to contain Krang’s influence has only just begun. In the prophecy’s final verse, the Oracle speaks of "when the stars fall silent," foretelling that Seregon’s fate will ultimately rest upon the one who wields the Sentinel Shield—a hero whose courage and sacrifice will decide whether the city stands or falls in the face of unimaginable darkness.
