Republic of Nahinia

Destroyed

Before its tragic fall, the Republic of Nahinia was a thriving nation nestled between the fertile plains of the north and the limestone mountain ranges of the east. With most of its trade occurring via the Rasarian Sea in the north, the country was a crossroads of commerce and magic. The capital city, Nahine, was renowned for its ancient fortress of the same name, surrounded by eight towering wizard towers in an octagon, a testament to the republic’s deep connection to arcane arts.

Population: 2 million

Nahinia's downfall was not to the ever-present threat of zombies but to the Gorge of Terror, a portal to the lower planes. Despite a system of concentric castles and magical defenses around the Gorge, the forces of hell eventually overran the region.

Top 5 Cities of Nahinia:

  1. Nahine (Capital): 150,000 people

    • The heart of the republic, Nahine was built around the ancient Nahine Fortress and its eight wizard towers. The city stood as a beacon of arcane knowledge and defense. Its towering walls and magical wards were the first line of defense against incursions from the Gorge of Terror.
  2. Tormun’s Forge: 80,000 people

    • Nestled in the limestone mountains of the east, this city was a major dwarven stronghold. Known for its vast forges and underground fortifications, Tormun’s Forge supplied much of the republic's weapons and armor. Now, the forges have fallen silent as the city is overrun by demonic forces from the Gorge.
  3. Gloomwatch: 70,000 people

    • Located near the Gorge of Terror, Gloomwatch was a heavily fortified city populated mostly by Rakshasa Incarnate. The city was a grim, war-hardened place, known for its constant battles against the forces of hell. It housed legions of defenders who fought on the front lines of the infernal incursions. The city fell as the Gorge overwhelmed its defenses.
  4. Rasari’s Gate: 60,000 people

    • A bustling port city on the inlet of the Rasarian Sea, Rasari’s Gate was Nahinia’s lifeline to the outside world. It managed all trade coming in and out of the republic, serving as a gateway for goods, travelers, and arcane knowledge. When the republic fell, Rasari’s Gate was left isolated, fighting off zombies and hellish invaders alike.
  5. Grainmere: 40,000 people

    • Situated in the northern plains, Grainmere was a halfling settlement known for its fertile lands and agricultural output. The city provided food for much of the republic, serving as its breadbasket. As the republic collapsed, Grainmere was one of the last cities to fall, its peaceful farmlands turned to ash.

Nahinia’s once-great cities now lie in ruin, caught in the endless battle between the forces of hell and the zombie hordes that threaten to overrun everything. The Gorge of Terror, once contained by magical and martial might, has unleashed a cataclysm that destroyed the republic, with its survivors either scattered or enslaved by the infernal invaders.
