*Mariska Vandeleur (Chris)

Mariska Vandeleur grew up in the fading luxury of a once-illustrious family estate, surrounded by remnants of grandeur but haunted by the specter of decline. Her parents, desperate to reclaim their lost status, turned to ill-advised business ventures and even riskier debts. But while they clung to the past, Mariska found herself fascinated by the bustling life outside their decaying manor—by the secrets whispered in the shadows, the schemes hatched in smoky taverns, and the allure of a good con.

By her teenage years, Mariska had become a master of deception. She learned how to forge documents, adopt false identities, and play whatever role suited her needs. With her sharp mind and a knack for reading people, she began running small-time cons throughout Seregon’s markets and back alleys, often disguised as a traveling performer or a well-to-do merchant's daughter. Over time, her schemes grew bolder, and she found herself mingling with merchants, adventurers, and even members of Seregon's elite—always a step ahead of those trying to catch her.

For Mariska, every interaction is a performance, and every word is a tool. She became a bard not just to entertain but to refine her art of manipulation. Her performances are spellbinding, allowing her to distract, charm, or mislead her audience. Mariska’s goal isn’t just wealth or power; it’s the thrill of the game. She sees Seregon as a city-sized stage, and she’s determined to play the lead role in its most dangerous intrigues. While she can be a loyal ally, she’s always looking out for number one, and anyone who underestimates her cunning usually regrets it.
