Sentinel Island: The Chamber of the Marshal

Captain Marrowtide's Journal contains information on the location of his final score. This treasure is located under Sentinel Island in a cave complex accessible from the Ravaged Sea.

Sentinel Island: The Chamber of the Marshal

Sentinel Island stands as a testament to lost heroism and maritime mystery, rising defiantly from the tumultuous Ravaged Sea, 50 miles south of Seregon. Dominated by the monumental busts of the Sentinels of Seregon carved into its cliffs, visible to ships sailing north towards Seregon, this island once thrived as a bastion for sailors, soldiers, and adventurers. Now abandoned, its castle and village lie in ruin, sealed and warded by the ancient wizard Ambergris.
Beneath the island, hidden in an abandoned cave complex accessible only by navigating treacherous waters, lies The Chamber of the Marshal. This secret room, veiled by natural rock and forgotten time, was chosen by Captain Marrowtide—formerly Maarten van der Zee—as the final hiding place for his grand fortune. The treasure chest, containing over 5,000 gp in coin and gemstones, symbolizes Marrowtide’s ambition to retire after his “big score” on Elephant Island.
The captain left a map of the cave entrance to remind himself of the rock formation near the entrance. It shows how to navigate a small boat into the cavern.

Rumors swirl about the shifting mountains of Sentinel Island, with whispers of a fifth, faceless bust emerging from the cliffs, suggesting the island may still hold untold secrets. Marrowtide’s treasure, and the dangers that surround it, are both a lure and a warning to those bold enough to seek fortune amidst the ruins of history.
