Appearance:
Dvaarash Karnak, AKA Vermeer, is a broad-shouldered miner with a rugged, hard-working appearance. His "human" guise is that of a grizzled prospector in his mid-50s, with sun-kissed skin and a bristly gray beard. His hands are rough and calloused, and his voice carries the gravelly tone of someone who has spent decades in the mines. He wears simple miner’s attire: a sturdy leather vest, patched trousers, and boots caked with dirt. A heavy pickaxe rests across his back. Around his neck, he wears an ornate amulet shaped like an open hand—an heirloom he claims belonged to his forefathers.
His true form is far more imposing: a towering rakshasa with a tiger's regal visage. His silk robes shimmer with golden embroidery depicting coiled serpents crushed beneath tiger claws, a silent declaration of his hatred for serpentfolk. Rings studded with rubies and emeralds adorn his backward-curved fingers, which he often steeples in a show of thoughtful contemplation.
Personality:
Dvaarash is the picture of politeness, speaking with measured courtesy even to those he considers beneath him. He is a master manipulator, adept at coaxing secrets and desires from others while revealing little of his own. His charm hides his sinister nature; Dvaarash relishes the opportunity to turn friends against each other and exploit weaknesses. While he projects an air of sophistication and reason, his temper can flare into violent bloodlust if he is thwarted. Beneath the cultured veneer lies a dangerous predator, unyielding in his pursuit of power. Though he is willing to make temporary alliances, his ultimate goal always serves his own rise to dominance.
