During the holidays a plan was being hatched by Carmilla as she planned several mass embraces across the world. Each one would take place in a relatively isolated city or town around the same time. Tens of thousands across the world, out of which the resourceful and ambitious would emerge.
She wanted to recruit the most promising recruits, while also seeing how well would the powers of Earth deal with such an epidemic. Her focus was in the city of Murmansk, where she wanted to execute the largest takeover and see how far could she push things with the help of Lilith, her younger sister.
While the infiltration and takeover were successful, the military response from the newly formed S.T.O.R.M. was brutal, backed by the Bratva and Soviet military. By the end of second week of '95 approximately 20,000 military personnel were dead, alongside a few hundred government agents and a few turned civilians.
While the other places were vampires were turned had much lower numbers, the local military forces also lacked the firepower to deal with the monsters effectively. By the third week of the new year the total death toll rose up to around 100,000 casualties and unfortunately not all targets were eliminated, many of them managing to escape. Murmansk, Norilsk, Vorkuta and Arkhanglesk became mass graveyards in the span of two weeks for both monster and man.
It is believed that other embraces happened in other parts of the globe, but were much subtler passing by unnoticed amidst all this chaos.
