Draft Horse

Draft horses were heavy work breeds of Horse that stood taller and weighed far more than traditional Riding Horses. They often exceeded 1600 pounds and were bred for strength, patience, and steady motion at low speed. Farmers used them to pull plows and loaded wagons, while siege crews used them to move artillery and heavy supplies.

They were valuable because they could apply force over long duration without breaking pace. Their bones and musculature were dense, and their temperament made them safe to use in close quarters with inexperienced handlers. In most settled regions, draft horses defined what scale of agriculture or construction was physically possible before more modern tools replaced their role.
