A Planar Compass was a magical astrolabe, popular with explorers who traveled throughout the Unknown. It was interlaced with minor divinatory magic, and could be opened once per day to create an incorporeal hand of shimmering light. Upon speaking the name of a mapped location on the same plane of existence, this hand pointed directly to that landmark, and could remain for up to 8 hours before needing to recharge.
