Tobias Villie Broadnose Cogsmith, Ajuni Elajoral, Mormeros Fayan, and Marcus Cromwell entered southern Barovia through an old Teleportation Circle that linked the Silver Dragon's Hideout to Argynvostholt. Blocked by Vampyr on entry and betrayed by Marcus, they initially only looked to save themselves from the horrors of the valley.
Over time, however, they met allies, developed their powers, and became known as the Heralds of Dawn.
