In Search For The Silver Dragon, the legendary adventurer Tybus Steelborn was searching for information on Order of the Silver Dragon. Learning about the Silver Dragon's Hideout, he put Mormeros in charge of assembling a team to scout it. By luck, Tybus recommended that Mormeros search for capable fighters in the Ruckus Ring, and he attended a match between The Swine Marcus Cromwell and a Minotaur. An obvious mark for Tobias Villie Broadnose Cogsmith and Ajuni Elajoral's scams, they swiped his money, only to get unwittingly invited to join him on the quest.
They defeated orc bandits lead by Marcus's former rival Xuk Smashmouth and headed on a two-weeks journey through the Isilet Ranges and the Crowncrest Mountains. Following fairly useless maps given by Tybus, they barely avoiding death by avalanche, Remorhaz, and the cold expanse of the Everglass. Mormeros' ability to conjure illusions saved the group numerous times, but his obstinate personality and aversion to rough adventure grated on the group. From there, they descended into the Underdark and met Queez and Ploom, who guided them to the Lake of Acid and its doors leading to the Silver Dragon's Hideout.
They narrowly made it beyond the lake after fighting off Hook Horrors; though Ploom was killed by a Cave Fisher, they made it across the Lake to the Hideout, beyond a set of Draconic doors. The trapped hideout was built into mountainside and guarded by Winter Wolves, but Mormeros tricked their leader Nihima into letting them enter. The hideout's arcane walls seemed to respond to Marcus and Ajuni's Human blood, and they were granted entry.
In the hideout, a thought-detecting trap declared that a "Devil" was in the heart of the group, and would look to betray them. Mormeros had proven to be quite an untrustworthy tiefling, so they suspected him, and narrowly avoided death by a Thaluud that had been trapped in with them. As they solved the mystery of the dungeon, they found letters from Captain Vladimir Horngaard and his steward Godfrey Gwilym, Irsel Rill Lakerun Gembop Geoheart's body, and her Dragon Scale Mail. With a last run, they temporarily trapped the Thaluud and stole the Dragon Slayer attached to its ankle, using Queez as bait to get out.
They ran downstairs, and found an avatar of the ancient Silver Dragon Argynvost sleeping, guarding a mass of silver coins. Next to him were two teleportation circles, and the waking dragon asked the party to go to Barovia and learn what happened to his manse, Argynvostholt. The teleport failed, however, and they were trapped within suffocating fog in liminal whiteness. Marcus was seemingly unaffected as the group choked, and the shadowy Vampyr approached.
Marcus' demeanor changed, as he recognized its shape, and he broke down in front of the figure, believing it to be his "lord" Strahd von Zarovich. Vampyr, referring to Marcus as "Zandros", thanked him for the three worthy souls, and they left the space. Mormeros, Tobias, and Ajuni were left to die on a high snowy mountainside. Ajuni and Tobias were absolutely baffled by the betrayal of a father-figure they had known for years, but Mormeros urged them on, even when Ajuni was nearly knocked to her death by a hiding Giant Goat.
The lands below cloaked in mist, they sought shelter at Tsolenka Pass. However, Ajuni received a whisper in her head that told her to keep moving and avoid camping at the gatehouse. A Roc descended on them, and as they escaped to the Svalich Woods, Szabina Pokolytsch met them at the treeline, blowing a horn that dissuaded the giant bird. The old hunter let them rest at Szabina's Cabin, where they found prophetic scrolls seemingly speaking of them meeting a "blind knight" and of the powerful Ladies Three.
Once recovered, they wandered northward, and descended into the cursed mists of Barovia.
