Mormeros Fayan

This character is dead.

Mormeros was born into the Fayan dynasty, and grew up in an atmosphere of wealth, privilege, and ridicule. The youngest of six Devilborn and the only boy amongst the children, he was seen as an afterthought by his family, a child too late and too soft to matter in the ruthless game of trade and power. His siblings, led by his eldest sister Margrea Fayan, grew into sharp-minded masters of commerce and manipulation. Mormeros grew into a charming fool, quick with a smile and story but hopeless when it came to study, business, or responsibility.

Where his sisters schemed in ledgers and contracts, Mormeros spent his days in taverns, surrounded by flatterers who humored him for free wine. He learned that a good joke and a confident swagger could carry him further than wit or diligence ever could, and he leaned into it with the ease of a man who had never known true consequence. Like his siblings, he believed taking a virtue name would mark him as a lower-class devilborn, but was nonetheless given the ironic nickname "Mormeros the Aspirational" for his general lack of ambition and skill.

It was in this restless and indulgent life that Mormeros stumbled into the clutches of a hidden cult. Drawn in by their praise and the intoxicating sense of belonging, he believed them to be admirers of his “destiny,” never realizing they worshiped Dharus Sunreaver, the disgraced ancestor of the Fayan line. The cult whispered of his greatness and of a future where he would rise above his cruel siblings. Mormeros, too dull to question and too vain to resist, accepted their promises eagerly. When Dharus himself reached out across the veil, Mormeros mistook the Archdevil's whispers for divine affirmation. A pact was struck, granting him strange powers he paraded as proof of his importance.

Unaware that he was now a Warlock and a pawn of Dharus, his natural charisma nonetheless lent him great aptitude in channeling the Fiendish magic through a Spellcasting Focus which shifted like molten magma. After a living a life resenting his mocking siblings, Mormeros felt the need to prove himself using his new powers. This resulted in him becoming an Adventurer, undertaking challenging quests and high-risk schemes which often backfired on him.
