Devil

Devils were lawful evil fiends native to the Lower Realms, known for extreme vindictiveness combined with a lack of ability to accept their mistakes. Thriving with ambition, devils delegated their work to any of those lower in their hierarchy, and attempted to rise up the hierarchy to modify rules in ways that suited them. These fiends had some tendency to act on emotion, especially when faced with the prospect of vengeance, but were often cunning beyond their impulses. They were known for making intricate deals and pacts with mortals, promising power, wealth, or knowledge in exchange for their souls. These contracts were binding and enforced with fiendish precision, often leading mortals down paths of corruption and damnation.

They typically possessed humanoid forms, often with fiendish features such as horns, cloven hooves, or scales. Devils were disciplined warriors and spellcasters, wielding infernal magic to enforce their will and corrupt mortal souls. Devils were depicted as the archenemies of Celestial beings and champions of law and order, albeit through oppressive means. Their schemes often involved infiltrating mortal realms to sow discord, collect debts, or further their infernal agendas.

Adventurerwho faced devils knew they faced cunning adversaries capable of twisting truths and exploiting weaknesses. Defeating a devil required wit and resilience against their manipulative tactics and magical abilities.
