A region in western Commona composed of high bluffs, meandering foothills, and swampy lowlands, the Fencrest Foothills were defined by their ocean boundaries at the Longsnout, Splitmaw Strait, and the Bay of Broken Tides. The area became a highly populated region when white marble and precious gemstones were discovered below its hills. Communities of gold diggers and marble extractors developed over centuries, but the region was mainly known for its capital Cliffsunder, one of the largest cities in the Common League.
The Common Path ran through the Fencrest, connecting Cliffsunder to cities beyond, as did many rivers that snaked from and around its foothills.
