Adamant was a pure, glossy-black ferromagnetic ore that reflected light with a distant rainbow outline. It was among the hardest, lightest, and most brittle ores in the world, and could be used to create the alloy Adamantine. It was uncommon to find this ore throughout the Head of the Greatwyrm, though it was known to materialize in spherical clusters within solidified volcanic flows in places such as the Emberpeaks.
Despite its extreme hardness, adamant was so brittle that a weapon or shield forged from the metal could be easily shattered by another metal weapon or even a hardwood staff or club. It offered great protection against both magical and natural flames, and was inherently immune to elemental effects.
