Podlings were Plant-born replicas created by Bodytaker Plants to replace living creatures. Formed after a victim was dissolved inside the plant’s central pod, a podling emerged as a near-perfect copy that carried the memories and appearance of the original, but acted entirely under the bodytaker’s control. They required no sleep, often displayed subtle oddities in behavior that betrayed their false nature, and dissolved into goo upon death or when their master was destroyed.
Podlings served as infiltrators and agents for their mother, allowing bodytaker plants to spread influence and secure new victims for conversion.
