Strahd von Zarovich's Animated Armor was constructed from the plate he wore into battle, painted burgundy and marked with golden angelic motifs. After his death, he bound a part of himself to it, turning the armor into an automaton that carried his will. It stood headless, hollow, and moved with a purpose beyond most Animated Objects. The armor walked the parapets of Castle Ravenloft, following its master’s command and showing no sign of its former use as a soldier’s protection.
The armor had been fortified with Spellcraft that strengthened its defenses and gave it power over lightning, which often crashed into it as it moved about the castle walls. Capable of sensing creatures within sixty feet, it immediately attacked intruders with its greatsword or cast bolts of energy at range, continuing until broken beyond repair. It understood Common, but answered only to Strahd, and it kept its place as a reliable guardian of his domain.
