Eldertree

The Eldertree stood at the heart of the Astralwood, a vast and ancient tree whose canopy rose above the surrounding Sea of Trees. It had been the seat of the Astralwood Enclave and the place where its most powerful Keepers and Speakers made their homes, along with their families. Its interior chambers and high boughs housed meeting halls, ritual spaces, and dwellings grown directly from living wood. From the Eldertree, the Speakers interpreted omens and visions, while the Keepers organized patrols that guarded the enclave’s borders against physical threats and planar intrusions alike.

It was believed by some that a weak Leyline to the Astral Border existed here, rendering much twilight in silvers, purples, and pinks, though this effect lessened the further into the Astralwood one traveled. The village of the Astralwood grew outward from the Eldertree, its earliest homes hollowed within the neighboring great trees that clustered around it. As the population expanded, additional houses were raised along massive branches and on the forest floor, carefully placed to preserve the living terrain.
