Coigshena was a legendary spirit distilled by the Stillhart clan, a Dwarf family scarcely known outside the most dedicated circles of the distilling craft, though their spirit was famed among the highest levels of society. Its name, meaning "five fires" in the Dwarven tongue, referred to the process by which it was made in the Hall of Five Fires. A mash of mountain lichen, mushrooms, and moss was passed through a series of five stills, each heated by a different magma flow or earthen fire deep beneath the Pikes of Uzuk, then aged in ancient barrels of wood from harvested from the Sea of Trees. Despite its earthy beginnings, the five fires drew out a bright and unexpected bouquet that few would have predicted from its ingredients.

Coigshena was among the most sought after bottles in high society, one of seven spirits so rare that they served as markers of elite access and standing. A bottle could lift even the most forgotten duke to a seat at the most important table. This prestige secured the Stillhart matriarchs a place among the Seven Spirits, the secret society of master distillers that used their spirits to steer politics and influence the powerful.
