At the highest peaks where the Rootstone Current thins and loops back upon itself, warm air rises against all expectation. Here stands a sparse ring of blackened stones, half buried in ice, half exposed to endless sky.
This is where the eldest Rootstone Keepers convene. No buildings exist. No fires burn. The warmth is not generated. It is revealed.
The Crown is not a place of rulership but of refusal. Decisions made here are always to delay, restrain, or dismantle intervention rather than escalate it. Visitors are rare and often changed.
Why it matters:
The Crown sits at a natural pressure release in the Rootstone Current. If damaged or misused, the surrounding region experiences violent weather inversions and ley surges.
