Type: Initiation and Memory Site
Biome: Old-growth forest
Beneath a colossal, half-dead tree whose roots form a cathedral of wood and earth lies a chamber grown, not carved. The walls pulse faintly with seasonal color. Voices echo long after speech ends.
This is where Rootstone Keepers undergo final initiation. Each initiate must listen without speaking for an entire turning of the Current, usually several days. Some hear nothing. Others hear too much.
The Sanctum stores memory not as writing, but as resonance. When a Keeper dies, their name is spoken here once, then never again.
Why it matters:
The Sanctum preserves unfiltered earth-memory. Arcane intrusion risks overwriting centuries of accumulated balance.
