The Labingi-Sarnelis Wheel of Planes

The first recognized theory of the physical geography of the planes of existence. This theoretical model was recovered in a journal written by Marcoul Labingi, a pre-desolation gnomish inventor who is supposedly the first person to make contact with other planes. Despite the fact that his own name was forgotten by the world until the recovery of his journal, after being reclaimed in 1458 (S.E.) his theory persisted in the common world as the primary model of planar relations until the discovery of the orbital model of planes in 1762 (S.E.).
