Frames line the walls from floor to ceiling. Gilded, blackened, some cracked with age, others gleaming as if freshly finished. Candlelight flickers in tall sconces, but the flames burn unnaturally steady—casting no warmth. At first, everything seems ordinary.

Then something moves.

A noblewoman turns her head, just slightly too late, as if she’s been watching you all along. A battlefield ripples, soldiers shifting positions in silence, their banners snapping in a wind you cannot feel. A child in a pastoral scene stops mid-laugh, staring out through the canvas with quiet, unsettling focus. As you step further inside, the sensation grows—like being observed from a hundred different angles.
