The first Giant, and Father of the Ancestors is Rübezahl, a mountain spirit or woodwose of the Giantwalk, who is said to have bound himself to a physical form of crstal out of sheer will, due to his desire to halp carve the mountain named Kotel, which means cauldron in Giantspeak.
He is recorded to be friendly with the new races he met, teaching the Unbekannt medicine and brewing; giving the kin of The Elf Queen presents of hewn crystal and Lightning Stones. If someone derides him, however, he exacts a severe revenge.
To Human, he gave sourdough and is said to have invented the traditional regional soup kyselo. When fog rises from the valley at the bottom of the Kotel, people say that Rübezahl is cooking Kyselo.
