Talikat - The Foundation

Talikat

Major Aspect of Order

The shaper of civilizations and the architect of order

Talikat was widely worshiped across Edge Basin and perhaps in other parts of the world. He is considered one of the primary forces shaping the world. While not a creator god, he played a pivotal role in guiding the development of sentient life, shaping societies, and instilling within them the principles needed to survive and flourish. Societies that emerged under Talikat's influence often reflected his nature, and developed complex systems of order and protection, mirroring his role as a guardian.

Rites

Rite of Loyalty

This is a part of a ritual combined with prayer that bonds people together.

Today it is still a part of most marriage ceremonies, though its origins are usually forgotten.

It includes prayers, hymns, and the sharing of food from the same plate.

Rite of Justice

Hardly observed, this is a ritualistic trail conducted in the open air before a large crowd and in accordance with ancient traditions and customs.

Celebrations

The Festival of the Chain and the Sword is a holiday that honors Talikat's role as protector and bringer of necessary destruction. The festival included competitive games of skill and strength, such as archery contests and mock battles. It might also feature displays of martial arts and demonstrations of defensive tactics. Additionally, in the more symbolic portions of the festival, practitioners often lock away or burn symbolic items that represent their flaws and vices.
