Arira

Archangel of Death, Master of Kvilla

In the twilight landscapes of Kvilla, where the living may never tread, Arira reigns over the shadowed gardens and silent corridors that cradle the faithless dead. She is the Archangel of Death, daughter of Pharados the Silver Prince, and sovereign over Limbo—the quiet refuge for those who perish without personal sin, yet without devotion to any god. Here, away from the grasping hands of rival deities who would claim them, these wandering spirits dwell in peace beneath her eternal watch.

Arira is no tyrant of the grave. Though she commands the domains of death, shadow, and Limbo, her power serves not cruelty but shelter. She is a guide for the unclaimed dead, leading them from the confusion of their passing into the stillness of her realm. To the frightened and uncertain, she is a balm; to the forsaken, she is sanctuary.

Her bond to Kvilla grants her dominion over shadow’s every form—mist, gloom, and dreamlike twilight. Through them she moves unseen, a phantom whose step is both silent and certain. Though not a warm figure, her presence is steady, her words measured, and her gaze ever watchful. Many whisper that her mastery of concealment and subtlety would rival the greatest assassins, yet she uses these arts less for slaughter and more for keeping her garden unspoiled by outside threat.

Her exile to Kvilla was self-chosen. When the Dominion Church named her a heretic for shielding the faithless dead, she refused to bend. Loyal to her father above all else, she withdrew into Limbo, vowing to protect its souls until Pharados’s light returns to vindicate her.

Yet her sanctuary is not without peril. Within Kvilla stalks Gargaros, the Black Behemoth, a draconic god of chaos whose presence gnaws at the realm’s stillness. For centuries, the two have been locked in an endless contest—his cunning against her vigilance. He seeks to unravel her order, to turn Limbo’s peace into another hunting ground. But Arira, ever patient, allows his attention to remain fixed upon their personal war. So long as she can keep him within Kvilla’s boundaries, his malice will never reach the mortal world of Midora.

Myth paints her as a paradox—shadow given purpose, death given compassion. She is a warden, a prisoner, and a guardian all at once. In her keeping lies a fragile balance between rest and ruin, and when the day comes that light and darkness meet upon Kvilla’s soil, the fate of the faithless and the will of the Dominion may be decided in a single breath.
