Elliot Vongore

A charming but deadly vampire of noble lineage, Elliot Vongore weaves a web of influence and intrigue throughout Rivermond’s underbelly. Born of mortal pain and turned by immortal temptation, he is a predator clad in silk, a merchant of forbidden desires, and a master of manipulation who hides his fangs behind a disarming smile.

Description

Elliot Vongore cuts a striking figure—refined, charismatic, and impossibly elegant. Always impeccably dressed in the fashion of highborn nobility, he blends seamlessly into the courts and salons of Rivermond’s elite. His eyes betray a depth older than they appear, and though his touch is warm and his smile inviting, those who look too closely sense the unnatural stillness beneath his skin.

As a merchant, Elliot is known for his rare and often illicit wares: poisons, arcane contraband, enchanted aphrodisiacs, and other curiosities that cater to the hidden vices of nobles and shadowdealers. Though few know his true nature, whispers abound of his uncanny presence and the eerie way his footsteps leave no echo.

Personality

Elliot is the epitome of cultured decadence—witty, poised, and disarmingly charming. He speaks in silken tones, rarely raising his voice, yet always commanding attention. Beneath the surface, however, lies a calculating mind and an unrelenting hunger for control. He is patient but ruthless, capable of great generosity or devastating cruelty depending on how others serve his interests.

Though he enjoys many mortal pleasures—fine wine, exquisite cuisine, and philosophical conversation—Elliot is ever mindful of the mask he wears. Trust does not come easily to him, and every relationship is a carefully measured risk. He is a predator who prefers manipulation to brute force, and his schemes often unfold over years rather than days.

Background

Born in the frigid Iron Isles, Elliot Vongore was the child of a fragile union between elven grace and human resilience. As a half-elf, he tasted a brief life of privilege under the protection of the vampiric lords who ruled the region. That illusion was shattered when his family was massacred—betrayed and consumed by those same lords.

At sixteen, orphaned and alone, Elliot was offered the Kiss of Undeath—a choice between vengeance and eternity. Despite the teachings of his youth, he embraced the vampire's curse, drawn to the seductive promise of power. In undeath, he rose swiftly among the aristocracy, mastering the political games of the Iron Isles. Yet, over time, the endless feasts, blood-soaked galas, and stagnant rituals grew hollow.

Eventually, Elliot abandoned the Iron Isles in search of purpose beyond the cold rot of immortality. He found new life in Rivermond, adopting the role of a traveling merchant dealing in forbidden arcana. His reputation grew in quiet circles—an enigmatic figure who could grant the darkest desires for the right price.

Though his dealings often skirt the edges of law and morality, Elliot has avoided open conflict, instead embedding himself among Rivermond’s nobility and criminal underworld alike. He commands assassins and agents from the shadows and has quietly built a small, formidable House of his own.

In the year 913, Elliot had several indirect encounters with the adventuring group known as The Travellers. Though aware of their presence and capabilities, he ensured all meetings were peaceful, even offering minor assistance to their cause when it suited him. As of now, he continues to operate in the region, maintaining a careful peace, ever watching, ever calculating.
