FoundingThe adventuring party known as The Travellers began as a group of individuals; Varis, Bartimaeus and Amelia. They were hired in Rivermond to retrieve an unusual automaton from the neighboring Khein Dynasty. This automaton, with a mysterious and dangerous artifact sealed within its iron ribcage, became the focal point of their journey. The automaton was transported from the distant shores of the Vache Kingdom for unknown reasons and with it a stray was found upon its arrival and was taken into custody. It was a young woman called Keira who had ran away from home. The party took them along with the automaton on their jounery back to Rivermond and it was also then they realized they had another person hiding in their carriage, Aislinne. A small tabaxi mage eager to explore the world. During their travel back into Rivermond they learned to be a group of adventurers and worked together for better or worse. They were watched, followed and attacked by local forces. Upon delivering it to the Arcane Academy in the Barony of Greenfield, they discovered it was not the automaton itself that was required, but the artifact hidden within. This artifact, Catalyst of Oblivion, was so powerful and perilous that many factions across the world would kill to possess it. The Ozaris Chamber, a secret cabal of Wizards and Sorceress led by Lupricall Maximus was given the artifact into their custody by The Travellers, securing it away from prying hands. Meanwhile, The Travellers retained the automaton, now known as Sabre, making it a steadfast companion in their travels. AdventureTheir journey led them to uncover a political conspiracy in the Barony of Bellmond, where the baron’s heir, Lucas, plotted to overthrow his ailing father, whose failing health and mental state had plunged the barony into disarray. With rebels and unrest spreading among the peasantry, The Travellers offered assistance to stabilize the situation but refrained from fully involving themselves in the brewing conflict. As they continued their travels, signs of larger-scale unrest in Rivermond became impossible to ignore. Tensions were mounting between the nobility and the Dominion Church, whose influence was growing dangerously overbearing. The party became champions of the people, offering aid to local communities and uncovering the struggles of Rivermond's populace. Their actions earned them the loyalty of many who desired independence from the Silver Dominion. However, their growing reputation was overshadowed by a far graver discovery: a breach between the Abyss and the material plane had opened in the Stormwoods, a magical forest in the Barony of Greenfield. Striking a truce with the native elves who guarded the forest, The Travellers vowed to find a way to seal the breach before it could consume the region. They learned that a dark researcher and the father of Amelia, William Vicarin, was responsible for this catastrophe, manipulating forbidden knowledge to expand the rift for his own goals. To thwart him, the party set out on a perilous quest to recover three ancient keys essential for closing the rift from which the roots of the abyss grew from. Now armed with the keys, The Travellers march toward their ultimate confrontation with the researcher, determined to close the breach and save Rivermond. Yet, the growing disorder in the land has not gone unnoticed. An ancient wyvern named Nauzzagin revels in the chaos, sowing discord while the ancient dragons debate how to restore peace and order with the people of Rivermond. Among these dragons is Kazmidrax the White, an adult white dragon who harbors a deep grudge against the people of Rivermond and especially The Travellers. After a fatal encounter where Kazmidrax killed one of their members, he swore vengeance, accusing the party of ambushing him during a moment of vulnerability. Now, he stalks The Travellers, intent on eliminating them all, adding yet another peril to their already daunting quest. Final Encounter with William VicarinThe Travellers’ final battle with William Vicarin—now fully transformed into the monstrous demigod Flesh Tyrant—marked the climactic end to his descent into his madness. After forging a blasphemous pact with an unknown dark patron, William surrendered what little humanity remained, becoming an eldritch horror sustained by the stolen traits and powers. In a brutal confrontation within the city of Redmond, the Travellers stood against him. They snatched the stolen abyssal heart from the Tyrant's chest, a void of writhing corruption belonging to the fiend Gorrekoth. The fiend reached out to Varis through his subconscious and demanded it to be returned. As the Flesh Tyrant advanced to reclaim it the party, Baron Oliver Rocks and his daugther Tina Rocks mounted a fearless assault to keep the creature at bay. Varis, his mind besieged by the fiend’s psychic torment, struck the heart with a desperate gunshot, weakening the Tyrant’s bond to its unholy power. Amelia Vicarin followed with precision strikes, ultimately shattering the heart and severing a great source of William’s power. With his mind freed by the Scroll of Dreamward, Varis joined the Baron in one final charge. Amelia, took aim with her bow and aided by Varis’ elemental magic, launched a pair of devastating arrows—one infused with lightning, the other with holy light. The back-to-back detonations obliterated the Flesh Tyrant’s head and unraveled its form. Without its abyssal essence, the creature crumbled into ash and rot, ending William’s brief reign of horror. His fall was a grim testament to the cost of forbidden power—and to the resilience of those who still chose to fight against it. The End of the Travellers and the Defeat of GorrekothIn the depths of the Abyss, the Travellers faced their greatest challenge—Gorrekoth, the Nightmare Weaver. Armed with resolve, blessings, and hardened minds, they entered the nightmare realm prepared to confront the abyssal force that had tormented dreams and shattered lives. Within Gorrekoth’s pocket domain, they found a landscape shaped by fear and madness, a twisted sanctuary for a creature born of trauma and shadow. After a brutal multi-phase battle, in which Gorrekoth attempted to fracture their unity and overwhelm them with clones, illusions, and psychic terror, the Travellers stood victorious. Despite the Nightmare Weaver's manipulations and the intrusion of abyssal reinforcements, the group’s strength, strategy, and unshakable will led to Gorrekoth’s final destruction. As his form collapsed, his domain began to unravel, and his essence was reclaimed by Xinon, the abyssal god who had created him. The Travellers escaped before the realm crumbled entirely, sealing the portal behind them. Their actions ended the abyssal incursion and protected Rivermond from a threat that could have consumed the material world from within. Though the kingdom would still face civil war, one great evil had been vanquished. The Veloren elves could return to their sacred Stormwoods, and nightmares once haunted by Gorrekoth’s presence began to fade. In the aftermath, the Travellers went their separate ways. Some returned home, others sought new purpose. Their fellowship, forged in hardship and battle, dissolved peacefully—each member carrying the weight and triumph of their shared journey. Their deeds, largely unknown to the wider world, remained etched in the lives they saved and the shadows they banished.
The abyss was sealed. Gorrekoth was no more. Key Members
