Varis Brightheart

Varis was born into a nontraditional family in a traditional land, and such a close eye was kept on him. When his skills and genius were practically proven, it all but ensured a swift entrance to the Arcane Academy at Greenfield. However, due to the nature of magic he employed, he was under the watchful gaze of the masters who were curious about his applications of magic and ever-curious about his results.

In the fleeting moments of the night, Varis studied and maximized his potential, sneaking into the libraries to study forbidden tomes locked away from the public eye. It is through these radical ideas and locked-away knowledge that he knows the fragile peace is strictly kept under the control of traditional values.

Being a firm believer in progressive values against the norm, Varis struck out to find like-minded individuals who could help him shape Rivermond in a new direction. Through this, he has built a network of progressive minds with whom he can communicate magically, calling themselves The Enchanted Minds Network. Each member of the network carries with them a page of specially enchanted paper. When written on with wizard's ink and addressed, it will mimic the recipients' own magical page exactly and disappear after reading.

After graduating from the Arcane Academy he was kept on as an Artificer and worked under the head master Lupricall Maximus carrying out various tasks and perfecting his instruments of artifice, eventually creating the Enchanted Tome of Transcription as his magnum opus at the Academy. One day he was tasked to cross the border into the Khein Dynasty to work on a secret project where he would meet others that would eventually share a common goal in changing his home of Rivermond forever.
