Second Emperor of the Nagan Empire (174 SA - 556 TA)
NPC, Royalty

Kenshii Nagamara Min was the Second Emperor of the Nagan Empire, a controversial figure who ruled during a time of great turmoil and upheaval. Despite his early successes in consolidating the power of the empire and expanding its borders, his reign was marked by a series of setbacks and defeats that ultimately led to his downfall. One of the defining moments of Kenshii's reign was his decision to engage in the Lunora Civil War. While the empire was initially able to make gains against the rebels in the north, the conflict ultimately dragged on for years, draining the empire's resources and manpower. Kenshii himself spent much of his last years on the front lines of the war, leading his armies in battle against the rebels. Three defining battles from the early stages of the war, before Kenshii ultimately lost control of the northern regions:

  1. The Battle of Nawachi: In the early days of the war, Kenshii personally led his troops into battle against the rebel forces at Nawachi. Despite being outnumbered, Kenshii's superior tactics and disciplined soldiers allowed him to achieve a decisive victory, routing the rebels and capturing several key leaders. This battle earned Kenshii the respect and admiration of his troops, and set the tone for his aggressive campaign against the rebels.

  2. The Siege of Kamisan: One of the rebel strongholds was located in the the northern capital city of Kamisan, a heavily fortified city that had long been a thorn in the empire's side. Kenshii led a massive army to lay siege to the city, cutting off its supply lines and bombarding its walls with catapults and trebuchets. The siege lasted for months, but Kenshii's army eventually breached the walls and stormed the city, putting the defenders to the sword and claiming a major victory for the empire.

  3. The Battle of Kakumaru: As the war dragged on, the rebels became increasingly desperate, resorting to guerrilla tactics and hit-and-run attacks against the empire's supply lines. Kenshii and his generals decided to flush out the rebels by sending a large force into the plains of Kakumaru, where the rebels were known to be hiding. The plains was a treacherous and difficult terrain, but Kenshii's troops pressed on, engaging the rebels in a fierce battle that lasted for days. Many claim the gods were playing games with both sides during this battle. Though the rebels fought fiercely, Kenshii's army ultimately prevailed, driving the rebels from the plains and striking a heavy blow against their morale.

Despite these early victories, however, Kenshii was ultimately unable to defeat the rebels and hold onto the northern regions of the empire. The civil war proved to be a long and costly conflict that ultimately drained the empire's resources and weakened its hold on power. Kenshii and his lords eventually sued for peace, ceding control of the northern regions to the rebels. The loss of these territories was a major blow to the empire's power and influence, and many blamed Kenshii for his failure to win the war. He died not long after and the circumstances of Kenshii's death are the subject of much speculation and rumor. Some believe that he took his own life in shame and despair over his defeat, while others suspect that he was murdered by his own lords for his perceived weakness and failure. Regardless of the truth, his death marked the end of an era for the Nagan Empire.
