Hunt for Kazmidrax the White

Side Quest

Location: Unknown

Objective: Track down and defeat the white dragon Kazmidrax the White to avenge a fallen comrade and ensure the safety of the realm.

Quest Description:

The quest begins in the aftermath of a tragic encounter with Kazmidrax, an adult white dragon. During an ill-fated expedition, The Travellers stumbled upon Kazmidrax's lair, a frozen mining cave in the countryside of the Barony of Greenfield. The dragon, already injured from a previous encounter with William Vicarin—who had attempted to steal his heart—was in hiding, recovering from his wounds.

As the party entered the lair, Aislinne tried to communicate with the creature, seeking a peaceful resolution. However, Kazmidrax, still in a fragile and enraged state, was unable to distinguish friend from foe. In a fit of fury, he unleashed his icy breath, instantly killing Aislinne. The surviving members of the party barely escaped, carrying Aislinne's frozen remains, and their attempts to revive her were in vain.

Haunted by the loss and determined to prevent further harm, Varis Brightheart swears to hunt down Kazmidrax. The quest is not only about vengeance for Aislinne's death but also about protecting the realm from the threat posed by an injured yet dangerous dragon. The journey to find Kazmidrax will be perilous, involving traversing treacherous terrain, facing harsh climates, and confronting the deadly dragon himself. The party must prepare for a challenging battle, one that will test their resolve and strength.

Meeting At The Forum

The Travellers found themselves summoned to a grand forum of ancient dragons, where they were to answer for their actions. Under the watchful gaze of these powerful beings, they faced scrutiny and accusations, their motives and allegiances questioned. Tensions ran high as the gathered dragons debated their fate, their voices echoing through the vast chamber.

Amid the proceedings, Kazmidrax arrived, taking the form of a regal yet imposing dragonborn. His presence only escalated the conflict, as he wasted no time in leveling accusations against the Travellers. He claimed they were allies of William Vicarin, the one who sought to steal his dragon heart, and that their interference had been part of a greater scheme. Furthermore, he defended his killing of Aislinne, declaring it an act of self-defense—justified in his eyes.

In an attempt to resolve the feud, a trial by combat was proposed, a sacred means of settling disputes among dragons and their kin. But Kazmidrax rejected the offer, refusing to engage in such a challenge. Instead, he issued a chilling vow—he would find the Travellers again, and when he did, there would be no place where they could hide from his wrath. With that, he departed, leaving the tension unresolved and the threat of his return looming over them.
