Marina Melvana

Keeper of lost Relics
NPC, Mystic

Marina Melvana was born in the Vache Kingdom. She was always fascinated by the magical items that others possessed, and from a young age, she would tinker with them, trying to figure out how they worked. As she grew older, her passion for magic only intensified, and she left the mainland to seek out more knowledge. Marina traveled from the mainland to the Iron Isles, studying various ruins from the past. She quickly gained a reputation as a skilled and knowledgeable arcane practitioner and archeologist, and soon enough, she began to acquire a collection of magical relics and artifacts from all over the Iron Isles.

When she arrived in Steel Port, Marina saw an opportunity to open her own store and share her vast knowledge of the arcane with others. She named her store "Lost Relics," and it quickly became a popular destination for those seeking magical items and advice on how to use them. Despite the Everron family's strict control over Steel Port and their blood tax, Marina was exempted from it. Many rumors circulated about why this was, but Marina never confirmed or denied any of them. Some said that she was sick, others that she was secretly cursed. Some even whispered that she had made a deal with Jonathan Everron himself to be exempted from the tax.

Despite the rumors, Marina continued to run her store and acquire more magical relics. She was always on the lookout for rare and powerful items, often traveling to dangerous places to obtain them. Despite the risks, Marina remained driven by her love for the arcane and her desire to share it with others.

Adopted Mutant

Kaliban is a unique vampyric creature that is often mistaken for a bat due to his unusual facial features. He is a mutant, born with a genetic mutation that sets him apart from other vampires. Unlike most vampires, who are known for their ruthless and bloodthirsty nature, Kaliban is a gentle and shy creature who is often found curled up in the corner of Mariana's shop. Mariana discovered Kaliban on the outskirts of Steel Port, abandoned and left to die in the cold. Despite his strange appearance, she took pity on him and brought him back to her shop, where she nursed him back to health. Over time, Kaliban developed a strong bond with Mariana and began to act like a child around her, seeking comfort and protection from the outside world.

Despite his gentle nature, Kaliban possesses unique abilities that make him a valuable asset to Mariana's arcane shop. He has the power of echolocation, which allows him to navigate through the dark corridors of the shop with ease. Additionally, he has a heightened sense of smell, which he uses to detect the presence of magic and other supernatural phenomena. While Kaliban may seem like a harmless creature, he is still a vampyric mutant, and his presence in Steel Port is a source of unease for many of the town's inhabitants. Some fear that he may be working with the Everron vampires, while others believe that he is a cursed creature who should be destroyed. Despite these fears, Mariana remains fiercely protective of Kaliban and refuses to let anyone harm him.
