Thessalia Gemshard was born in Argenthelm, during a time when her family were at the height of their power and influence. She grew up in a family of nobles, raised with all the privileges and advantages that come with such a position. As she grew older, Thessalia became known for her beauty, intelligence, and skill with magic. She quickly earned the respect and admiration of her parents. Despite her many accomplishments, Thessalia remained humble and kind-hearted, always seeking to help those in need. She became known as a great mage in the arts of protective spells and the suppression spells. She also became an expert in the art of winemaking, a skill she had inherited from her family.
Over time, Thessalia's family began to decline in power and influence. As the Church's influence grew around them, Thessalia and her sister Fabella decided to leave their home while their family remained. They eventually settled in the Bellmond barony in the far south in the land of Rivermond, where they purchased a vineyard estate near the village of Seacliff. For the past two centuries, Thessalia has lived at her estate, quietly tending to her vines and practicing her magic. She has become something of a recluse, rarely leaving her home except to visit the nearby village for supplies. Nevertheless, she remains respected and admired by all those who know of her, and her estate is known throughout the region for producing some of the finest wines in all of Rivermond.
Though she and her sister may have fallen from the heights of their previous social status, Thessalia remains proud of her heritage and her family. She and her sister rarely speak to one another, less so after her sister married a human noble. Last she heard from her sister was when she turned 300 nearly fifty years ago. She is fiercely loyal to those she cares about, and will go to great lengths to protect them from harm. Despite her many years, she appear very young and she is still a formidable opponent, and has been known to use her magic to devastating effect when necessary.
