Orlun Dar

Lieutenant of the 13th Company

Lieutenant Orlun Dar is proof that war has use for even the most unlikely of minds. Once a minor noble scholar from the outskirts of the Dominion heartlands, Orlun was convicted for a blend of tax evasion, smuggling of arcane tomes, and practicing unsanctioned magic beyond the Church's strict parameters. Rather than languish in a cell, the Dominion Church offered him a grim alternative—service within the Redeemed Legion, a place where sinners are reforged in fire and faith.

Assigned to the 13th Company under Commander Tyranoth Redgast, Orlun was expected to be little more than another name to tally among the fallen. But instead, he adapted. Quiet, reserved, and perpetually hunched over a scroll or sigil board, Orlun quickly proved himself to be a savant when it came to battlefield control. With his knowledge of terrain, enemy habits, and magical influence, he began guiding skirmishes from the rear—using whisperstones to issue precise orders and conjuring glyphs that manipulate the flow of combat.

Though lacking in brute strength and martial prowess, Orlun has earned his rank through sharp strategy, cold efficiency, and the uncanny ability to always know where the enemy is weakest. Soldiers under his direction often say he “sees the war like a game of towers and tides.” Now a trusted Lieutenant of the 13th, Orlun speaks little, prefers ink and diagrams to rousing speeches, and often seems more comfortable with magical theory than with men. Still, his loyalty to Redgast and to the system that gave him a second chance remains ironclad—though he’s never once said why.
