Rowan Sable

Captain of the 9th Company

Once known more for his silver tongue and scandalous exploits than for any discipline or duty, Rowan Sable lived fast and carelessly in his youth. A talented fencer and quick-witted noble-born cadet, he squandered his early promise in card dens and taverns, charming coin and company with equal ease. His recklessness came to a violent end when he was caught in bed with the wife of one of his instructors. The punishment was swift and brutal—publicly whipped nearly to death.

Only the intervention of the Dominion Church spared his life. Judging his talents worth salvaging, they offered him a place in the Redeemed Legion rather than a grave. He accepted, bloodied and broken, and was sent to serve with the 9th Company. There, something changed. Stripped of his pride, reputation, and comforts, Rowan found a new purpose—not in glory or pleasure, but in cunning and precision. He rose through the ranks as a skirmisher and scout, proving himself not only brave but unnervingly effective at sabotage, distraction, and swift assaults. His charm remained, but it was now tempered by humility and focus.

As Captain of the 9th’s skirmisher division, Rowan Sable now leads with wit, daring, and a keen sense of timing. He specializes in operations that demand misdirection, stealth, and unorthodox tactics. Though some still whisper of his past, his soldiers trust him to get them through hell and back again—and to do it with a roguish grin.
