Tiny Door to Tiny Home

This 6-inch tall wooden door is carved with faintly glowing runes, framed in a limestone frame and adorned with a small iron knob. It somehow adheres magically to any flat surface. When opened, it reveals a dimly lit room filled with soft flickering candlelight, a threadbare rug, and a low table. No one can physically enter or interact with the room beyond by normal means. Sometimes, muffled voices, laughter, or sobbing can be heard from within.

The origin of the door is unknown, but rumors tie it to the enigmatic nomadic merchant and trickster Rasmus. Some say it’s a window into a prison. Others say it's a refuge for a forgotten soul. A few claim it’s Rasmus himself, hiding a piece of his essence where none may reach.

Properties:

  • Anchored Space: As an action, you can place the Tiny Door on a solid surface. It adheres magically and opens into the same room regardless of where it is placed. The room is about 10 feet deep, 8 feet wide, and 6 feet tall, but it cannot be entered or affected by spells or effects from outside. No light from outside enters it.
  • Whispers Beyond (Passive): When within 10 feet of the open door, you occasionally hear whispers in a language you understand, offering cryptic insights, strange secrets, or unsettling truths. The DM may choose to provide hints, misinformation, or forgotten lore.
  • Glimpse the Hidden (1/Day): Once per day, if you stare into the door for 1 minute, make a DC 15 Wisdom (Insight) check. On a success, you gain advantage on your next Intelligence (Arcana), Intelligence (History), or Wisdom (Insight) check made within 10 minutes, as the whispers momentarily guide your mind.
  • Uneasy Aura: Creatures with truesight, fey ancestry, or divine sense detect something unnatural beyond the door. Undead creatures instinctively avoid the area.
