"Vengeance!"

Rising like a ghost ship from the depths, the refugees of Manannan Port found this small island when fleeing the Fomorii raiders. Now, it is a mirror image of the tumbledown buildings and swaying docks of Saltee. A network of hastily constructed docks occupied by markets, people and homes. Carachs of various designs, sizes and heraldry come and go at an almost constant pace, making their runs to the Inisa Mion, Lwyg-Rath or whatever small Unknown dot the western shores. The evening air here is filled with the sounds of combat, drunkenness and high lust as the denizens of the carachlinn town all but flood to their local den of their particularly favorite vice.

New Manannan was built as a place for people to find shelter. It continues to be a place of freedom. Where any mortal can find their destiny through fair trade, hard work, larceny or even piracy.

Government

Government

New Manannan is governed by the remains of the Unknown, the Unknown and various smaller carachlinn gangs in a somewhat tense alliance. Most major decisions are made as a vote between these masters of the wave, enacted only when a resolution is amicably met. This, surprisingly, makes for an effective piratical government.

Demographics

It is difficult to properly portray the amount of various individuals that sail to and from New Manannan. It is not as grand or populated as Manannan Port is, however, many various peoples displaced as refugees from the older caern-rath can be found here. From suspicious Digir conclaves to raucous Boggart gangs, New Manannan may one day hold a candle to its ancestry.

Districts

Districts

New Manannan in its current state is an utter sprawl across a large Inisa Mion and its satellite islands. There is no planning other than the "central mast", a single mast from the first Fomorii Carach to have been sunk by Monaian hands. This mast leans awkwardly at the center of the sprawl and it is where the so-called carachlinn council chooses to meet when at court.

Geography
New Manannan's main inisa; Príomhchrann, loosely translated from Old Moni as "Main Mast" as this is where the Central Mast and carachlinn council is located, is mostly rocky shoreline and grassy hills. The smaller inisa that lay off its shores have small forests on them. Largely, they were barren of all but tall grasses and seabirds until the refugees of Manannan Port arrived.

History

History

After Manannan Port fell to the invading Fomorii invaders, many of the survivors fled from the caern-rath into open waters where they could. Very little of the inisa's smaller carachs were able to make it through the Fomorii blockade. Those that did were hounded over every wake and wave, until they managed to elude their hunters and make landfall at a sizeable inisa mion just southwest of Lwyg-Rath. The survivors were quick to rebuild and conquer the small islands nearby. Swiftly the entire population was bent to the task of performing hit-and-run attacks on Fomorii patrol vessels, opening trade with larger native powers, and helping the populace of the inisa mion as best as they might.

Since the end of the Fomorii invasion many of the original inhabitants have returned to their homes in Manannan Port, yet many still remain taking new pride in their current home. Carachlinn flock to the shores of New Manannan and its begun to rival Saltee as a new thalassocracy on the far western Inisa Mion.

Heraldry

Furbished in bright colors to indicate the new state, azure represents the open sea to which the refugees fled, the violet represents the opulence of Manannan Port left behind. A carach piloted by rats represents the refugees of Manannan Port fleeing like rats from a sinking ship. Something stated with both pride, and a bit of self-deprecation.
