Government
The governance of The Belatsunat Edifice is theocratic, led by the High Ordinator of Unknown, a revered Digir priest known as a Unknown. The High Ordinator rules with autocratic authority, wielding immense power over the city and its inhabitants. While each of the temples within the city can offer counsel, it is the Temple of MUL-ENKI that holds the greatest sway, its influence stemming from its dedication to the MUL Constellation of War and Metalworks. Under the guidance of the High Ordinator, the city's laws and customs are shaped by the principles of discipline, skill, and the pursuit of insulative protection.
Demographics
The Pillar known as the Belatsunat Edifice covers an area of approximately 494 acres, with a total population of 30 thousand people. The city has 80 Unknown houses and106 Unknown houses. The peace is kept by 96 Unknown of various types and another 288 ready to defend the faith.
The proximity to Skiltona-Rath in the modern age following the Year of Invasions means that the denizens of the Belatsunat Edifice often play host to Skilti band-leaders during negotiations for use of the mineral deposits in the Ardenroots near them. They also have entered a mutual defense pact against Huldufolk incursions, though such events have grown much more rare as of late.
Industry & Trade
The Belatsunat Edifice is not only a fortress but also a hub of industrious activity dedicated to the training and outfitting of the Digir military elite. Within its walls, workshops and forges hum with the production of weapons, armor, and other essential equipment for the Erimlu, the stalwart legionnaires of the Digir army. Adjacent to these bustling centers are specialized training grounds where these warriors hone their skills in rigorous drills and mock battles. Meanwhile, in more secluded sections of the city, the Erimasarlu—scouts and spies—undergo intense training in espionage, stealth, and reconnaissance. This dual focus on industry and military preparedness ensures that the Belatsunat Edifice remains a vital stronghold, capable of supporting and equipping the Digir's finest soldiers in their ongoing defense of the realm.
The Belatsunat Edifice is fortified by large garrison buildings strategically placed in the surrounding mountain passes, serving as the first line of defense against potential invaders. At the city's heart lies the central barracks, the House of MUL-ZIBABA, a formidable structure adorned with grand reliefs that celebrate Digir martial prowess and wartime feats. These intricate carvings depict scenes of epic battles, heroic warriors, and the disciplined formations of the Digir army, serving both as inspiration for the soldiers housed within and as a reminder of the city's proud martial heritage. The barracks, with its imposing presence and storied walls, stands as a symbol of strength and vigilance, ensuring the security of the Belatsunat Edifice and its inhabitants.
The architecture of the Belatsunat Edifice, while similar to other Uru-Ká in its simple, blocky design, is distinguished by its focus on defense. The sturdy buildings, hewn from the mountain rock, are often crenelated, with their tops forming interconnected balconies that provide strategic vantage points for defenders. These balconies are linked by a network of walkways, allowing soldiers to move swiftly and securely across the city's upper levels. This defensive architecture not only fortifies the city but also creates a unique, tiered aesthetic that blends functionality with the imposing presence of a fortress, underscoring the Belatsunat Edifice's role as a bastion of strength and vigilance.
